Position Overview:
As an essential member of the PETRONAS Canada Payroll team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of daily payroll functions. This includes processing payroll accurately and timely while adhering to regulations, and maintaining and updating all pertinent records and documentation. As a key contributor to our skilled team, you will act as a subject matter expert for various departments and employees, providing exceptional service and efficient issue resolution.
Your Contributions:
- Manage and prepare semi-monthly payrolls for around 550 employees across Alberta and BC.
- Promptly address and resolve employee inquiries related to pay, benefits, taxes, and deductions.
- Act as a subject matter expert for different departments, ensuring timely resolution of issues and optimization of payroll processes.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and accurate assessment of taxable benefits, including year-end reporting requirements.
- Conduct audits, maintain data integrity in Workday, and oversee benefit administration.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of payroll-related experience.
- Completion of Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification.
- Proficiency in automated payroll systems, preferably Workday.
- Advanced skills in Excel, including VLOOKUP, PivotTables, SUMIFS, and INDEX-MATCH.
- Strong understanding of systems and data flow, with a capacity for learning and adapting to new processes.
- Initiative to explore system capabilities and leverage technology for process enhancement.
- Ability to troubleshoot and efficiently resolve technical payroll issues.
- Proven history of innovation and process improvement.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
