Electrical Designer Role

The Electrical Designer will be responsible for designing and preparing drawings, programs, sequence of operations, test procedures, and other documentation provided by Toromont.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design programs, sequence of operation, and test procedures related to the use of PLC and HMI, controlling and displaying synchronization and load management systems for generator sets.
  • Engineering, design, and drafting according to specifications and standards.
  • Develop control and protection schemes for generators.
  • Carry out tests at the factory and commissioning at customers.
  • Troubleshooting and tests to identify the cause of complaints regarding the programming aspect of client systems.
  • Provide technical assistance to other departments (Sales, Shop, After-Sales Service) in order to investigate and resolve problems of application, testing, or start-up of control cabinets and switchgears.
  • Complete all necessary documents and reports.
  • May require traveling for client interventions (in Canada).
Requirements:
  • College or university degree in electrical engineering with 2 to 5 years' experience.
  • Design experience with AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Member of the PEO or PEO eligible.
