Thurber Engineering Ltd. is seeking a motivated Junior Geotechnical Technician to become a part of our dynamic team.
We specialize in providing geotechnical, environmental, and construction materials engineering services across various sectors in Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field assessments and monitoring during construction activities to ensure adherence to geotechnical standards.
- Perform in situ evaluations of materials on-site, including compaction assessments and concrete and asphalt testing.
- Execute laboratory analyses within our soils, concrete, and asphalt facilities.
- Ensure laboratory instruments are maintained according to established guidelines.
- Maintain an orderly workspace, including soil inventory and equipment management, while collaborating with a team of specialists.
- Work alongside engineers and team members to provide necessary technical support.
- Keep precise records of both field and laboratory testing operations.
Experience with laboratory soil testing methods such as Proctor Tests and grain size analyses is advantageous. CCIL and CSA Certification for soils, concrete, and asphalt is considered a plus.
