Job Summary

AltaLink is seeking a cooperative student to join our Operational Engineering team in Calgary. As a member of our team, you will support issues on our transmission facilities in Alberta, ranging from 69kV to 500kV. You will work with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to provide technical support and analysis.

Responsibilities
  • Liaise with internal and external customers to address issues and concerns.
  • Understand and communicate AltaLink's requirements and standards with third parties.
  • Support root cause failure analysis and provide engineering support on requests related to AltaLink's power system assets.
  • Provide analysis of existing assets for system performance enhancements and recommended standards changes and upgrades.
  • Support the gathering of evidence required to demonstrate compliance to internal and external compliance frameworks.
Requirements
  • An Electrical Engineering student with two or more years of study and enrolled in a Co-op/Internship program at a recognized University.
  • Knowledge of electrical transmission facilities is an asset.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office: TEAMS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
