Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist I - Analytical Operations Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our analytical operations team, you will be responsible for providing analytical support for our site cleaning verification program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze samples using HPLC, UPLC, and mass spectroscopy techniques to ensure compliance with standard methods.
  • Document all experimental data in accordance with ALCOA principles and review, document, and communicate test results.
  • Independently carry out analytical testing following established procedures and SOPs.
  • Perform swab sampling on manufacturing equipment and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Work proficiently with Empower, NuGenesis, MS Word, and Excel software.
  • Recognize and report unexpected or out-of-specification results immediately to the supervisor and conduct laboratory investigations under direction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a science-related environment.
  • Good understanding of basic chemistry and experience with common laboratory equipment and operation.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative chemical or microbiological analysis.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as determination of test reliability, analysis of variance, and correlation techniques.
Working Conditions

The position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about lab/office locations. The ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time is also required. The position involves manipulation of light to medium weights, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time.
