About the Role

Mandy and Raj's Valu-Mart is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our payroll processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Processing: Prepare and process payroll statements, including gross and net salaries, deductions, and benefits.
  • Clerical Duties: Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems, both physical and digital.
  • Reporting and Reconciliation: Prepare and balance period-end reports, reconcile issued payrolls to bank statements, and prepare monthly statements.
  • Benefits Administration: Complete and submit documentation for the administration of benefits, including pension plans, leaves, share savings, employment, and medical insurance.
  • Employee Communication: Inform employees about payroll matters and benefit plans.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of employee attendance, leave, and overtime to calculate pay and benefit entitlements.
  • Statement Preparation: Prepare T4 statements and other required statements.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Computer and Technology Skills: Proficient in Quick Books, MS Access, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Windows.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and ability to manage a large workload.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, organized, and a team player.
