Position Overview:
As a Software Procurement Specialist at Applied Materials, you will be instrumental in collaborating with business partners and spearheading sourcing initiatives that align with the company's vision of 'Making Possible'. Your role will emphasize innovation, efficiency, partnership, and adherence to compliance standards. The Global Procurement Services (GPS) team is vital to our operations, acquiring essential resources across various categories, including IT Hardware, Software, Services, Telecommunications, Consulting, Professional Services, Facilities, Real Estate, Equipment, Equipment Maintenance, and Contingent Workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement strategic sourcing and procurement strategies within the IT category.
- Work closely with GPS Commodity Business Managers to develop category strategies.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and budget owners.
- Oversee supplier communications, conduct market research, perform data analysis, and manage contracts.
- Lead opportunity assessments, supplier negotiations, and performance evaluations.
- Assist in gathering product/service requirements and evaluating suppliers.
- Support spend management initiatives and process improvements.
- Develop global strategies and collaborate with local sourcing teams as necessary.
Required Skills:
- Exceptional problem-solving and negotiation capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and excel in a dynamic environment.

- Minimum of 6 years in indirect procurement and sourcing.
- Expertise in Software, Cloud, SAAS, and IT sourcing.
- Global experience working with diverse cultures and regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in procurement software and analytical tools.
