Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Load and unload goods with precision and care.
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods with caution and expertise.
Requirements
  • Air Brakes Endorsement.
  • DZ class license.
  • Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (CVOR) Certificate.
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
  • Driver's License (Class 3 or D).
  • Forklift Operator Certification.
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with documentation knowledge, including bill of lading, driver logbook, inspection report, and trip reports.
  • Knowledge of straight truck operation and communication systems experience with trip recorders.
  • Transportation/travel experience, including local and short-haul routes.
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail, flexibility, and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and may be required to work overtime.
