POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Manager of Strategic Initiatives is responsible for identifying, developing, and spearheading the execution of high-impact projects and strategies that align with ScotiaMcLeod's long-term objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this position, you will:

Oversee the formulation and implementation of strategic initiatives for ScotiaMcLeod that necessitate direct engagement with key stakeholders, including all Scotia Wealth Management business lines. Perform market research, competitive analysis, and internal evaluations to uncover growth and enhancement opportunities. Assume overall accountability for assigned projects, which includes managing scope, budget, risk, resources, planning, and internal/external communications. Ensure the acquisition of necessary resources and support to guarantee that initiatives are executed accurately, on schedule, and within budget. Assist the ScotiaMcLeod leadership team in strategizing, executing, and monitoring internal, cross-functional programs and procedures. Proactively identify initiatives and processes that foster efficient and effective business operations. Conduct regular meetings with relevant parties to ensure that projects and initiatives remain on course. Maintain an active list of initiatives, identify responsible stakeholders, and establish timelines for implementation. Develop and execute change management activities specifically related to assigned projects and initiatives. Lead and actively participate in identifying opportunities for improvement and process efficiencies to enhance overall effectiveness while consulting with key partners and stakeholders. Recognize how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be integrated into daily activities and decision-making. Cultivate an environment where the team strives for effective and efficient operations in alignment with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles. Create a high-performance culture and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates team members by fostering an inclusive work environment and employing a coaching mindset; communicate vision/values/business strategy; and manage succession and development planning for the team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA is preferred. Project Management (PMP) and/or Lean Six Sigma certification is advantageous. Over 5 years of experience in corporate strategy or consulting, particularly within the wealth management, banking, or financial services sectors, is beneficial. Strong quantitative, analytical, and conceptual problem-solving abilities combined with exceptional business acumen and attention to detail. Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for engaging with stakeholders from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. The ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with other teams and senior executives. Advanced proficiency in financial analysis. Advanced leadership capabilities in Building Strategic Relationships and Customer Focus. Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
