Position Overview:
The Shredding Specialist plays a crucial role in the operations team, responsible for the efficient handling of waste paper. This includes receiving, sorting, and loading materials into shredding equipment while also performing essential warehouse support tasks. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team member dedicated to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Compensation: CAD 18.50 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Unload shredded materials from company vehicles at the designated facility.
- Operate and maintain baling machinery effectively.
- Stage or load paper bales for shipment as necessary.
- Support off-site shredding operations as required.
- Ensure security of plant equipment by implementing safety protocols.
- Operate forklifts and conduct routine maintenance on equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with industry standards.
- Perform nightly cleaning of shredding compartments and vehicles.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on all operational equipment.
- Manage supplies necessary for plant operations.
- Adhere to all safety and security policies, reporting any concerns to management.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting preferred.
- Availability to work at least 40 hours per week.
