Position: Consultant Psychiatrist

We are looking for a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to join our esteemed team on a contractual basis. This role is pivotal in delivering psychiatric evaluations and treatment recommendations for adults who have suffered psychological trauma related to their work environment.

The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to significantly influence the mental health of individuals requiring psychiatric support while enjoying the flexibility that comes with a contract role.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments for individuals referred to the program.
2. Create tailored treatment strategies based on clinical evaluations, patient history, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
3. Suggest evidence-based psychiatric interventions, including medication management and psychotherapy, to meet patients' mental health requirements (note that the psychiatrist will not have a direct treating relationship with the clients).
4. Work alongside other healthcare professionals, such as psychologists, social workers, nurses, and primary care providers.
5. Engage in case discussions to review patient cases, share strategies, and provide support to fellow professionals.

6. Maintain precise and current medical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, and other pertinent information, in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

7. Uphold ethical and professional practice standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and producing reports suitable for third-party funders.

8. Contribute to program development, quality enhancement initiatives, and other efforts aimed at improving the effectiveness and efficiency of psychiatric services.

Qualifications:
1. Medical degree from an accredited institution with a specialization in Psychiatry.
2. Board certification in Psychiatry.
3. Valid license to practice Psychiatry in the relevant province.
4. Strong diagnostic and assessment capabilities.
5. Experience with trauma-related disorders is preferred.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
8. Willingness to adhere to contractual commitments and work autonomously.
9. Familiarity with workers' compensation systems and regulations is a plus but not mandatory.
