Job Summary:
The Freight Team Associate - Stockroom Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the sales floor is stocked and organized to provide a pleasant and safe shopping environment for customers. This role involves verifying inventory, stocking merchandise, and maintaining aisle cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Verify inventory levels, read reports, and utilize computer terminals to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Stockroom Operations: Stock merchandise onto shelves to achieve 100% in stock, and maintain a clean and organized stockroom environment.
- Aisle Maintenance: Ensure aisles are clean and free of obstacles to provide a safe shopping environment.
- Order Fulfillment: Obtain pick lists and gather merchandise to fill customer orders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate with other team members to ensure all products are stocked accurately and efficiently.
- Freight Handling: Safely move freight from designated staging areas to overheads using the appropriate equipment as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Availability: Ability to work evenings and overnights, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50lbs repetitively, and possess the physical stamina to perform the duties of the role.
- Equipment Experience: Previous experience operating lift equipment, such as forklifts, reach-trucks, and order-pickers, is an asset.
- Decision Making: Excellent decision-making ability and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate and efficient stockroom operations.
- Attention to Detail: Detailed-oriented and able to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve goals.
- Self-Motivation: Self-motivated to drive completion of tasks as quickly and accurately as possible.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills are considered an asset, but not required (training provided).
