Skyworks Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented University student to join its Radio Systems Architecture Team as a Co-Op in RF Systems Engineering. This 12-month Co-Op position will provide the selected candidate with a well-rounded introduction to the RF electronic component design environment and a chance to work on complex multichip, multi-technology RFIC-based wireless module solutions for Wi-Fi applications.
Responsibilities- Support various RF Systems Engineering tasks, including automation of testing of RFICs and multichip modules, performing RF tests, and summarizing results for presentation to RF Systems and RF Design engineers.
- Develop and characterize WLAN waveforms, simulate EVM and backfitting simulation results to measured data for various PAs and FEMs, and evaluate the performance of WLAN RF front end modules.
- Must be currently enrolled in an EE or Engineering Physics Bachelor or Master's degree program and returning to school after the completion of this Co-Op.
- Self-starter with hands-on experience in scripting in MATLAB and a background in RF/microwave circuits, including knowledge of fundamental RF parameters, RF testing, and RF test equipment.
- Strong proficiency in MATLAB, Excel, Power Point, and data organization, with knowledge of RF parameters (insertion loss, return loss, harmonics, IMD, IIP2/3, VSWR, NF, etc.) being an asset.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience in using RF equipment such as oscilloscope, VNA, VSA, spectrum analyzer, and RF sources.
The typical pay range for an intern is CAD $44.00 per hour, with starting base pay depending on level of education and job duties.
