About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary School Teacher to join our team at Ahmadiyya Muslim Schools Society Alberta. As an Elementary School Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our young students and helping them develop a strong foundation in their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students, ensuring they meet their academic potential.
  • Experience: With a minimum of 1 year of teaching experience, you will have a deep understanding of curriculum development, classroom management, and student assessment.
  • Work Setting: As a Primary School Teacher, you will work in a dynamic and supportive environment, collaborating with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning space.
  • Tasks: Your responsibilities will include:
    • Attending educational conferences and workshops to stay updated on best practices and curriculum developments.
    • Discussing student progress with parents, guardians, and school officials to ensure a collaborative approach to education.
    • Evaluating and documenting student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness.
    • Participating in staff meetings and contributing to the development of school policies and procedures.
    • Supervising teaching assistants and training student teachers to ensure a smooth transition into the profession.
    • Assigning and correcting homework, developing course content, and preparing subject material for presentation.
    • Identifying individual learning needs and preparing remedial programs for students requiring extra support.
    • Preparing, administering, and correcting tests to assess student understanding and progress.
Certifications and Qualifications
  • Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR: You will have a valid certification in emergency child care first aid and CPR, ensuring the safety and well-being of our students.
  • Provincial or Territorial Teaching Certificate: You will hold a valid teaching certificate, demonstrating your expertise and commitment to the profession.
Work Environment
  • Language of Work: English
  • Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
