Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tractor-Trailer Driver to join our team at Canada Cartage Group. As a key member of our dedicated fleet solutions team, you will be responsible for operating a large or heavy truck that transports cargo to and from specified locations on time and according to schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a tractor-trailer vehicle safely and responsibly, adhering to all traffic and safety regulations.
  • Conduct routine inspections prior to departure to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition.
  • Manage appropriate cargo documentation and provide necessary paperwork upon the delivery of goods.
  • Coordinate the loading and unloading of the truck, verifying cargo and ensuring items are properly stored and secured.
  • Maintain contact with dispatchers to provide status updates, clarify special instructions, and notify about delays or issues during transport.
Requirements
  • Minimum 9 months of experience required.
  • Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Class AZ /Class 1.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Highway runs across Ontario.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
  • Shipping documentation expertise.
  • Knowledge of MTO regulations.
  • Ability to load, secure, and unload cargo.
  • Maintaining travel logs.
  • Transporting cargo safely and efficiently.
  • Conducting vehicle safety checks.
