Job Summary:

Mainline Construction (2014) Ltd. is seeking a skilled Grading Foreman to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising a crew and equipment to complete grading projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise work at the assigned jobsite, ensuring daily field safety and environmental inspections are conducted and records are maintained.
  • Verify accuracy of bills of lading and notify supervisor of material delivery discrepancies.
  • Ensure materials required are available to maintain a steady workflow on the jobsite.
  • Maintain good employee relations and ensure all training requirements are achieved.
  • Optimize resources through proper planning and coordination of work.
  • Review and complete all required documentation, including daily timesheets, tailgate meetings, and incident reporting.
Leadership and Quality:
  • Encourage high-quality service and lead by example.
  • Understand and apply company performance standards (QA/QC) requirements for all maintenance activities.
Performance Management:
  • Ensure team members are aware of their duties and responsibilities.
  • Hold team members accountable for their results through ongoing performance management.
Job Management:
  • Monitor weather conditions and adjust schedules to avoid delays.
  • Direct the mobilization and demobilization of crews and equipment.
  • Ensure "work alone" protocol is followed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of civil or oilfield grading experience.
  • High school education or extensive experience.
  • Valid Class 5 AB driver's license with a clean abstract.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Workers Compensation Board (WCB) Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Proficiency in computer skills is considered an asset.
