Part-Time Professor of Applied AI Ethics

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified Part-Time Professor to teach a course on Applied AI Ethics at the University of Ottawa. The successful candidate will have a strong background in AI ethics and philosophy, and will be able to design and deliver a course that critically examines the intersection of technology and society.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver a course on Applied AI Ethics that covers topics such as bias and fairness, explainability, accountability, privacy, deception, trust/trustworthiness, and metaphors.
- Develop and implement hands-on design projects that introduce students to methods for applying ethical considerations in technology design.
- Assess student learning and provide feedback on their performance.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of AI ethics and philosophy, demonstrated by relevant research publications or extensive experience in the field.
- A doctorate in a field related to AI ethics and philosophy, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to teach in a university setting and design engaging course materials.
Working Conditions
This is a part-time position, with a regular schedule of 39 hours per week. The course will be delivered in person.
