Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Troubleshoot Mechanical Issues: Use advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and resolve mechanical issues in commercial trucks, including engines, transmissions, and braking systems.
  • Perform Repairs and Preventive Maintenance: Conduct repairs and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of commercial trucks, including engine overhauls, brake adjustments, and suspension repairs.
  • Replace Faulty Components: Replace faulty components with genuine or compatible parts to maintain the functionality and performance of commercial trucks.
  • Maintain Accurate Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used to comply with regulatory requirements and facilitate efficient workflow.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks, share knowledge, and deliver exceptional customer service to fleet managers, drivers, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman Certificate: Possess a Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman Certificate with Red Seal.
  • Technical Knowledge: Have a strong aptitude for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance, and be mechanically inclined.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to work in a physical capacity, including heavy lifting and using tools throughout the shift.
  • Computerized Scanning Equipment: Be able to use computerized scanning equipment and digital technology/mechanical software.
  • Certifications: Possess certifications such as Detroit, Chassis, Cummins, Allison, and CVIP license (assets).
