About the Role

The Category Manager is a key business enabler responsible for providing procurement support for an assigned spend portfolio. This role will be integral to the success of Aviva's transformation journey, working with senior partners to develop category strategies, roadmaps, and complete procurement delivery through negotiation and contract strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and drive sourcing events for products and services.
  • Lead dispute resolution processes and key negotiations.
  • Handle designated supplier contracts and supervise the quality of the relationship between Aviva and its suppliers.
  • Owning and managing the outsourcing governance processes and results.
  • Tracking and managing outsourcing related programs.
Requirements
  • University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Service Provider/Vendor Management sourcing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability (5+ years) in category management, strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and contract management.
  • Experience in business transformation initiatives is an asset.
  • Experience in category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier/contract management of IT and SaaS products is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Project and contract management experience for professional and IT services contracts is considered an asset.
  • Shown ability to lead change at the executive level with a focus on service delivery and financial results.
  • Understanding of benchmarking processes and techniques.
  • Experience with supplier performance measures and monitoring.
  • Demonstrates global competence and experience working with global/multinational companies and collaborators from different regions to collaborate or seek consensus.
