Senior Mechanical Engineer/Technical Specialist

Wood is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer/Technical Specialist to join our Mining & Minerals team at our Saskatoon, SK office. If you have a successful track record and thrive on challenges in a fast-paced environment, this opportunity is ideal for you.

Our Saskatoon office is the Potash Centre of Excellence, leading in uranium, lithium, and other base metals with multi-discipline expertise in sustaining capital and all phases of projects from concept studies to large-scale EPCM projects.

Requirements
  • 15+ years of experience with potash and/or uranium plant design and operations.
  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (with APEGS in the Province of Saskatchewan).
  • Familiarity with design codes, equipment, and material selection and specification development.
  • Able to perform calculations for equipment design, such as for tanks, pumps, and conveyors.
  • Pipe stress calculations are an asset.
  • Underground operations experience is an asset.
  • Wellfield piping design experience is an asset.
  • Construction experience is an asset.
  • Other heavy industrial, mining, or smelting experience is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application.
