Position Responsibilities
Execute the cleaning processes through the following methods:
Chemical Cleaning
Clean specific engine components as directed by the engine manual and/or the Standard Practices Manual Adjust and replenish chemicals as necessaryAbrasive Blasting
Prepare components by masking them before blasting with the appropriate media Remove coatings as specified by engineering guidelines and/or engine overhaul documentation Perform glass bead peening to eliminate contaminants and enhance the surface finish of components Conduct routine maintenance on blasting equipmentAqueous Degreasing
Operate the washing unit while ensuring safe handling of components and chemicals during the process Perform light maintenance on all aqueous cleaning apparatus Modify and replace chemicals as requiredHeat Tinting
Utilize the bake oven to assess the acceptability of coatings on blades Heat blades according to procedures for coating evaluation Undertake additional duties as assigned to maintain departmental efficiency Exhibit behaviors that align with quality, health and safety, and environmental management standards.Qualifications
Minimum high school diploma with relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience Ability to read and comprehend written procedures and work instructions Skill in safely maneuvering parts for processing (using available hoists) without risking personal injury or damage to components Good visual acuity, meeting the minimum eye test standards as set by company policies Compliance with established safety regulations and dress code is essential Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts Flexibility to work various shiftsWorking Conditions
Individuals in this role should be prepared for:
Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently A combination of prolonged standing and walking, frequently involving grasping and lifting Repetitive tasks requiring attention to detail Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, aprons, goggles, and fitted respirators when necessary Working in environments with noise, humidity, and dust Exposure to chemicals during cleaning processesBenefits Offered:
