Position Overview
The Director of Initiatives for Indigenous Women's Empowerment at the Government of Alberta plays a pivotal role in enhancing the safety, security, and economic well-being of Indigenous women, girls, and 2S+ individuals. This position is responsible for spearheading initiatives aimed at combating violence and fostering a supportive environment.
Key Duties Include:
- Strategic Direction: Lead and execute programs aligned with the Alberta MMIWG Roadmap while managing the Alberta Indigenous Initiatives Program (AIIP).
- Program Oversight: Design, implement, assess, and report on the effectiveness and outcomes of various initiatives.
- Community Engagement: Cultivate and enhance partnerships with Indigenous communities, organizations, governmental bodies, and other stakeholders.
- Advisory Role: Provide informed strategic counsel to the Executive Director regarding issues affecting Indigenous women, girls, and 2S+ individuals.
