Job Summary

IDL Projects Inc. is a leading provider of construction services in Canada and internationally. We are seeking a skilled Safety Watch and Spark Watch to join our team for a temporary position on a pulp mill turnaround project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure a safe working environment and prevent potential hazards.
  • Perform duties including on-site safety watch, hole watch, and atmospheric testing, spark/fire watch, and gas detection.
  • Monitor emergency planning zones and potential hazards, and conduct stop work procedures in high-risk situations.
  • Maintain coordination and cooperation with other site team members to ensure smooth site activity.
  • Adhere to safe practices, worksite, and traffic laws.

Requirements

  • No prior experience is necessary; mandatory in-house training will be provided.
  • Steel-toe boots are required.
  • Ability to attend an all-day training session.
  • Availability for approximately 7 days of work.
  • Local to the project location.
  • Own transportation is necessary.
  • Physically able to carry up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
  • Adherence to company Health, Safety, and Environmental reporting and standard assessments.
