As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our mill and loadout. You will be responsible for supervising and directing the shift operation, ensuring that product meets quality and quantity standards, and contributing to the administration of collective bargaining agreements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring a safe work environment for all employees by maintaining compliance with safety requirements and promoting a proper safety attitude
  • Complying with the Nutrien Allan Safety System and supporting this program to ensure established goals are met or surpassed
  • Supervising and directing the shift operation to produce and load product that meets quality and quantity standards
  • Effectively contributing to the administration of collective bargaining agreements to ensure consistency, fairness, and competitive business practices
  • Establishing an atmosphere for good human relations through excellent communication and consistent and fair decisions on disciplinary and grievance problems
  • Directing people to maximize efficiency of the mill operation while maintaining a consistent, fair, and safe work environment
  • Meeting Corporate and Divisional profit plans by effectively utilizing and controlling assets and resources allocated to Mill operations

Requirements include:

  • High School Diploma: a Post-secondary education is an asset
  • Supervisory experience required, preferably in a unionized environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior leadership skills
  • A strong passion for safety
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to build a strong team
  • Basic computer skills, including typing and working knowledge of computer programs such as Word, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Working Knowledge of the OH&S Regulations
  • Potash milling experience considered an asset
