Position Overview: The successful candidate will primarily engage in site coordination tasks and a diverse range of medical and first aid responsibilities. It is essential for team members to be thoroughly acquainted with the organization's Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) protocols, including the relevant reporting systems. Personnel will be responsible for documenting all first aid incidents in compliance with regulatory standards. Effective report writing and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously are crucial in this role. The role demands a capacity to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment while also being capable of independent work.

First Aid Responsibilities:

  • Administer advanced first aid, including initial response, preparing individuals for transport, and ensuring all necessary documentation is provided to emergency response teams.
  • Address and rectify unsafe working conditions.
  • Operate the onsite medical transport vehicle.
  • Participate in new and/or updated training sessions as required; all training costs will be covered by the organization.

Dispatch Responsibilities:

  • Deliver dispatch services for the site.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing communications, documenting calls as necessary.
  • Maintain logs and record significant site activities using various software applications.
  • Operate CCTV systems as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Occupational First Aid Level 3 certification (mandatory).
  • Class 5 Driver's License.

Experience:

  • Prior experience as a site medic in an operational context.
  • A proactive and dedicated approach with a proven track record of fostering strong, trust-based relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working 12-hour shifts (day and/or night) and physically capable of performing duties in remote locations.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a passion for working in a people-centric environment.
  • Strong time management abilities.
  • Proficient in using computers and various relevant software.

Special Requirements:

  • Clear Criminal Record Check.
  • Customer Service Training (training provided).
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, sound judgment, decision-making skills, and the ability to plan, organize, and solve problems effectively.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess, evaluate, and recommend improvements in daily operations.
  • Advanced computer proficiency.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team or independently.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of mediating and addressing workplace, client, and staff issues effectively.
  • Able to respond systematically to emergencies, including fire, medical, and security situations.
  • Report incidents and activities in a clear and timely manner.

Physical Demands:

  • This role requires a high-energy individual capable of multitasking and working extended hours (12-hour shifts) as needed.
  • Frequent standing, sitting, and walking will be involved.
  • Good health is essential; annual physical assessments may be required.

Mental Requirements:

  • Ongoing decision-making, judgment, organization, analysis, and problem-solving are integral to this position.
  • Must be adaptable and able to quickly adjust to changing schedules.
  • Proven ability to plan, analyze, organize, exercise judgment, and make effective decisions are critical for success in this role.

Work Conditions:

  • Up to 12 hours of work may be required each day.
  • Shift work is a necessity.
  • Personnel must adhere to site-specific personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements at all times, including high visibility vests, hard hats, and eye protection in designated areas.
