Glass Machine Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Glass Machine Operator to join our team at Emterra Group. As a key member of our recycling facility, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our glass processing system, ensuring the production of high-quality glass products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain the glass processing system, including the touch screen controls, grinders, natural gas dryer, magnet, conveyors, dust collection system, glass bagging equipment, and screens.
  • Perform daily circle checks of the forklift and perform minor maintenance tasks, including blowing out the radiator.
  • Load trucks with skids and supersacs of glass and provide other forklift duties throughout the plant as required.
  • Perform maintenance of the glass processing system, including greasing and adjusting belts, changing parts on primary and secondary grinder and scalping screen, and changing bags inside the two dust collectors.
  • Ensure the dust collectors are operational at all times during production and report any problems with the dust collection system immediately to supervision.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including safe lockout and test procedures and wearing safety equipment.
  • Operate the front end loader safely, according to the operating manual and established health and safety procedures.
  • Load the hopper with glass and provide other loader duties throughout the plant as required.
  • Operate the snorkel lift following all safety protocols to unjam vacuum pipes and other tasks.
  • Operate all baler controls for the IPS and Nexgen balers and provide support as required operating this equipment.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class G driver's license.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.
  • Successful completion of formal training courses on Forklift Truck, Front End Loader, and Aerial Work Platform.
  • Experience working with tools and machinery, with the ability to make minor repairs to equipment, adjust belts, grease equipment, etc.
