Job Title: Youth Support Worker

Ndinawemaaganag Endaawaad Inc is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced individual to provide supervision and support to youth in our care. The successful candidate will act as a positive role model, provide mentorship, and advocate for youth to ensure their well-being and success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a safe and healthy environment for youth, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Act as a mentor and advocate for youth, supporting their development of independent living skills and promoting their overall well-being.
  • Provide resource information, complete referrals, and act as an advocate for youth upon request, ensuring they receive the support they need.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including logbook entries, MAR forms, and incident reports.
Qualifications:
  • A combination of education and employment history, with a preference for post-secondary education in the Child and Youth Care field.
  • Experience working in an Indigenous community setting, with knowledge of cultural-based services and a demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed approaches.
  • Effective assessment, relationship building, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a team environment and independently.
  • Proficiency in computer use, including Microsoft 365 applications, and a valid CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • A current Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Prior Contact Check are required.
