Job Title: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Resource Teacher

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing Resource Teacher to join our team at School District #41 (Burnaby).

About the Role

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with classroom teachers and school teams to support students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, providing them with the best possible learning experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide instructional support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Provide expertise in the provision of alternate format instructional materials and specialized equipment
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and organizations that support Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Education degree or academic equivalent
  • Master's Degree or Diploma in the education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing or Certification by the Canadian Association of Educators of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CAEDHH)
  • Teacher Regulation Branch Certificate
  • Previous classroom teaching experience
  • Expertise in technology and its application for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Valid driver's license
