**Job Summary:**
Pacific Cove Properties is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our residential maintenance team in Nanaimo, British Columbia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional maintenance support to our building and units.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform general building maintenance under close supervision, including grounds, maintenance, and minor repair work.
- Conduct general labour work as assigned by property and resident management team, including loading, unloading, moving materials, and running errands.
- Paint and perform drywall patching as needed.
- Replace light bulbs/lamps, clean fixtures, and move furniture.
- Respond quickly to emergency situations and resident concerns.
- Monitor landscaping, common area, and parking facilities.
- Perform some janitorial duties as needed.
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives as related to building operations and practices safe work habits.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Required Skillsets:**
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in maintenance work.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to communicate effectively and work independently.
- May be required to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority/emergency situations.
- May require shift work and/or on-call duties.
- Pass criminal background requirements.
- Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Knowledge of older plumbing systems is considered an asset.
- A Certificate of Qualification in Plumbing or Electrical will be considered an asset.
**Education and Experience:**
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in facilities and building maintenance or relevant experience.
