Laboratory Technologist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Technologist to join our team at Lakeridge Health. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care and practice activities in a multidisciplinary family-centered care environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing lab specimens and testing
• Updating patient records and documenting procedures and test results
• Maintaining and stocking of work area
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Current Certification with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (C.M.L.T.O) registration
• Experience in Histology required
• Proven sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in stressful situations
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work well independently and to exercise sound judgment
• Ability to perform the essential duties of the position
• Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers, and other members of the community and public

Conditions of Employment:

• The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348
• Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months
