We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team as an Assistant Teaching Professor in Biological Sciences at Thompson Rivers University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and develop courses in molecular genetics, techniques in molecular genetics, genomics, and bioinformatics, as well as gene regulation and epigenetic mechanisms.
  • Update and expand laboratory courses focusing on molecular genetics, biochemical techniques, and applications in the field and applied settings.
  • Contribute to the Department's strategic goals and ensure congruence amongst initiatives.
Qualifications

Successful candidates will have relevant training in molecular biology, molecular genetics, and bioinformatics, with substantial teaching and/or research experience in these areas. Previous experience in course development and coordination will be viewed favorably. Demonstrated excellence in oral, written, and interpersonal communication is also desirable.

Specialized Requirements
  • A minimum of three years actively involved in teaching and other scholarly activities at the University level.
  • Demonstrated scholarly activity, including publications, presentations, and research, as well as a combination of teaching and research experience.
  • Demonstrated theoretical and professional knowledge of the discipline.
  • Demonstrated competence with relevant course content.
  • Sound knowledge and demonstrated application of best teaching practices.
  • Advanced statistical methods are desired.
