Your Role at SECURE Energy

The Dispatch Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating waste management services in the Fort McMurray Oilsands region. This position is responsible for effective communication and coordination regarding the transportation of bins to and from customer sites with our drivers across the area.

Key Responsibilities

The duties associated with this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Answering and documenting customer calls
  • Entering customer information to create work order packages (work orders, manifests, etc.)
  • Utilizing various electronic systems to accomplish daily tasks (CRO, HMM, ARI, ITRAX)
  • Scheduling and dispatching drivers
  • Assisting in the processing of completed work orders
  • Overseeing driver pickups and deliveries
  • Maintaining a customer-centric approach to uphold client and employee relations
  • Organizing and managing project documentation
  • Additional responsibilities include:
  • Scheduling equipment maintenance and assisting management and drivers with truck, trailer, and bin upkeep.
  • Collaborating with department management and site teams to ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Performing yard and shop duties, including equipment operation (forklift, skid steers, small loaders) and maintaining cleanliness in the wash bay and shop.
  • Running errands to procure project supplies from local vendors.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 2-5 years of experience in a dispatch or project coordination role
  • Post-secondary education in logistics, transportation, business, or equivalent training and experience
  • Familiarity with the waste management industry
  • Preferred CDL Driver License (Class 1 or 3)
  • Knowledge of local roadways, hazardous materials routes, and road restrictions
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment
  • Strong customer service orientation, with effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities, capable of gathering and analyzing information to resolve issues promptly
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Flexibility and adaptability, willing to take on additional responsibilities as necessary to meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail, demonstrating accuracy in work
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work under pressure
