Job Title: Legal Specialist/Paralegal

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Specialist/Paralegal to join our team at United Services Group. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing expert legal advice to our internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a range of legal, compliance, and administrative duties supporting Quebec and Eastern Canada.
  • Provide support to internal teams, including compliance, complaints, and violence or harassment allegations.
  • Advise management on various legal and contractual concerns and issues.
  • Contribute to regional projects that influence strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Coach internal stakeholders on regulatory and compliance matters and policies and procedures.
  • Ensure legal compliance in all aspects of business operations, including contracts, policies & processes aligned with provincial requirements.
  • Coordinate legal issues to comply with government and company policies & regulations.
  • Lead investigations to discover facts and law of cases to determine causes of action and prepare cases accordingly.
  • Interact regularly with external lawyers regarding legal issues and manage communication and coordination of files.
  • Attend small claims court and mediation conferences on behalf of the company.
Requirements:
  • Post-Secondary education (diploma or degree) in Legal or a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
