About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented School Custodian to join our team at Prairie South School Division No. 210. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate industrial vacuum cleaners, power sweepers, and other equipment to remove debris and maintain facilities.
  • Waste Management: Empty trash cans and other waste containers to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Facilities Support: Assist with minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Security and Safety: Perform regular safety and security checks to ensure the well-being of students and staff.
  • Physical Demands: Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, and perform other physically demanding tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English language proficiency required.
  • Work Environment: School or educational institution/establishment.
