Position Overview

As a Family Child Care Provider, you will play a crucial role in nurturing and supporting children in a home environment. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the well-being and development of the children under your care.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: Previous experience is considered an asset or equivalent experience
Work Environment

This position is based in the employer's home, providing a comfortable and familiar setting for the children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents
  • Shop for food and household supplies as needed
  • Wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens
  • Bathe, dress, and feed infants and children
  • Provide care for foster children
  • Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment within the home
  • Organize activities such as games and outings for children
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals
  • Prepare infants and children for rest periods
  • Supervise and care for children during daily activities
  • Transport children to and from school and appointments
  • Attend to the emotional well-being of children
Special Needs Experience

Experience with children who have special needs, including those with mental health disabilities, is valued.

Security and Safety

A criminal record check will be required to ensure the safety of the children.

Work Conditions

This role may involve repetitive tasks and requires a commitment to maintaining a high standard of care.
