Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Eliminate old paint, fill in holes, and fix damage to prepare surfaces for painting.
  • Paint Mixing and Application: Blend paint hues to achieve the desired outcome and apply paint using brushes, rollers, or spray guns.
  • Quality Control: Verify adequate coverage and a flawless finish on all painted surfaces.
  • Tool Maintenance: Manage the upkeep of painting tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety guidelines and wear protective gear during work to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1+ years of proven experience as an auto body painter with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in color mixing, surface preparation, and various painting techniques.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of different types of paints, primers, and finishes, as well as their application methods.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and address painting issues or imperfections effectively.
  • Physical Stamina: Capability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Certifications: Relevant certifications or vocational training in auto body painting or a related field.
  2. Software Skills: Familiarity with computerized paint mixing systems and paint-related software is advantageous.
  3. Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with other auto body technicians and professionals.
Work Environment
  • Exposure to Elements: On-the-job exposure to fumes, dirt, chemicals/toxins, hazards, heat/cold, and noise.
