Accounting Manager

Job Summary:
The Plant Controller will be responsible for effectively controlling, reporting, and analyzing the financial and statistical information regarding Catalent's Strathroy operations on a timely and accurate basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting operational functions, including hiring, training, and retaining competent accounting staff.
- Manage the accumulation of all financial and statistical data necessary for an accurate accounting of business results.
- Coordinate and prepare internal financial statements. Provide management with management reports that support decision making, such as direct labor variance, material usage, scrap, departmental spending, purchase price variance, and overhead analysis.
- Prepare and manage the annual budget as well as the monthly forecasts.
- Assess current accounting and internal control processes, develop recommendations for improvement, and monitor ongoing performance.
- Liaise with external auditors and lead financial audits. Make recommendations for improvements.
- Prepare sales analysis for purposes of planning and actual sales to forecast.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration (Accounting, Finance) required.
- C.M.A., C.G.A., or C.A. preferred.
- Minimum five+ years of progressive work experience in financial management required.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment at a middle management level required.
- Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles), tax laws (including income tax & value added tax).
- Excellent computer skills utilizing an ERP system as well as MS Office.
- Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds.
- Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs) may be considered in place of external experience.
