Position Overview

Velocity Truck Centre Canada is seeking a dedicated Financial Credit Specialist to join our team at the Edmonton West branch. This role is pivotal in contributing to one of Canada's top-managed companies, enhancing the quality and professionalism within the trucking industry.

Primary Job Functions

Review and manage credit requests exceeding $10,000 and support Collections staff with credit override issues.Conduct ongoing assessments of customers approaching their credit limits and take necessary actions.Evaluate and authorize credit applications.Analyze accounts with credit balances and implement appropriate measures.Perform tax and resale verifications.Research and address credit card chargebacks.Maintain an accurate and up-to-date customer database, collaborating with clients to establish parent/child accounts and eliminate duplicate entries.Assist with Pinnacle disputes.Assess and analyze the credit history of both existing and prospective clients.Make informed decisions based on thorough assessments.Manage multiple projects and ensure timely submission of applications.Understand business, economic, and industry risks.Keep detailed records of all customer applications.Support collectors in reconciling payment discrepancies.Assist collectors with challenging accounts.Participate in audits.Help with demand letters.Contribute to the creation and updating of relevant process documentation.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a dealership environment.Must possess a CCP designation.2-3 years of experience in a similar capacity as a Financial Credit Specialist.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Strong problem-solving abilities and effective negotiation skills.Ability to communicate effectively with customers and all organizational levels.Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment.Proficient in multitasking and follow-through.Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications, particularly with advanced Excel skills.Strong overall keyboarding and internet application proficiency.
