Job Summary:

Laprairie is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty equipment and vehicles.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting heavy-duty equipment and vehicles for proper performance and identifying areas for improvement
  • Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment and adjusting or replacing faulty parts as needed
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty and automotive vehicles
  • Repairing and servicing machine attachments and performing major repair work when necessary
  • Consulting with other Mechanics and Supervisor when needed and reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management
  • Actively participating in the compliance of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance System

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Apprenticeship Documentation
  • Proven work experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic
  • Understanding of computer testing technologies and knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic & electrical systems, and construction equipment
  • Must have a Class 5 driver's license at minimum and CVIP license preferred
  • Ability to work after-hours if required and good communication skills
