Operations Supervisor

Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) and Kansas City Southern (KCS) have merged to form CPKC, the only truly North American railway. As a Supervisor Intermodal and Automotive Operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods across our 20,000-mile network.
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to oversee the operations of our intermodal and automotive terminals. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the activities of our team to ensure containers are received, loaded, and unloaded in accordance with our policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure Safety and Compliance: Apply CPKC safety practices, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for unionized and contractor employees.
- Communicate with Cross-Functional Teams: Regularly interact with cross-functional teams to maintain service commitments for intermodal traffic.
- Coordinate Terminal Operations: Coordinate all lift, hostler, T&E, and mechanical movements within the yard to meet key performance indicators.
- Container Management: Ensure container availability and placement in accordance with IMS Service Standards.
- Outbound Loading: Prioritize outbound loading for domestic and international traffic in compliance with AAR securement processes.
- Perishable Protected Service: Ensure perishable protected service containers are inspected at prescribed intervals and service providers are engaged for repairs and serving.
- Inventory Management: Ensure truck dwell, asset utilization, and key metrics are met, including inventory management for containers and railcars in OASIS/TYES.
- Continuous Improvement: Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and effectiveness of the operation.
- Education: High School diploma or GED.
- Experience: Previous railroad experience is considered an asset.
- Skills: Ability to drill down, understand root cause, and resolve complex issues. High proficiency in OASIS, TMS, MS Office Outlook, Word, and basic Excel. Understanding of applicable Collective Agreement.
