Job Summary

GFL Environmental is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Class 1 Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials to various client sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate all required transport equipment, adhering to strict safety protocols and regulations.
  • Represent GFL Environmental professionally on all client sites, identifying opportunities to expand services and build strong relationships.
  • Ensure all assigned equipment is properly loaded and maintained, adhering to company standards and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate drivers' logs, documenting mileage, hours, and material hauled.
  • Communicate effectively with a team of qualified professionals, ensuring seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in safety meetings, last-minute risk assessments, and job hazard assessments, contributing to a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Identify and classify all types of hazardous waste, adhering to regulatory requirements and company protocols.
  • Handle drum dollies and pallet jacks for the transportation and loading of materials, ensuring efficient and safe operations.

Requirements

  • Valid Class 1 Driver's License with Air Brakes and a clean Commercial Driving Abstract.
  • TDG knowledge and experience is an asset.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines, and time management techniques.
  • Ability to work safely and independently.
  • High level of personal integrity.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Manual dexterity, ability to lift 75+ lbs required.
