In this role, you will play a vital part in designing and implementing electrical systems for our robust mining machinery. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive electrical schematics for mining mobile equipment, collaborating closely with the engineering team throughout the design process.
  • Optimize component selection to achieve a balance between cost-effectiveness and machine performance, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Design and implement complete machine electrical systems and harnesses, ensuring seamless integration with other mechanical and control systems.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth production launch and adherence to specifications.
  • Engage with various departments, including operations, manufacturing engineering, product support, and purchasing, to address technical requirements and resolve design challenges.
  • Offer ongoing technical support to the production team during capital equipment builds, ensuring successful implementation of electrical systems.
  • Provide expert assistance to the service department in resolving design and commissioning issues, contributing to efficient maintenance and repair processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical system design for heavy mobile equipment, particularly within the mining industry.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in multi-functional engineering projects, understanding the interdependencies between electrical systems and other disciplines.
  • Strong familiarity with relevant electrical safety regulations, such as ISO, ANSI, and CSA.
  • Proficiency in Engineering ERP systems and a comprehensive understanding of technical documentation processes (ECNs, ECRs, NCRs, RAs, DFMEA, and PFMEA).
  • Expert-level proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
