Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging environment that promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. This includes planning and implementing child-care programs, supervising staff and trainees, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure the well-being of our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers to ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • Order supplies and equipment to maintain a clean and organized environment
  • Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records and preparing reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of licensing regulations and ability to establish guidelines for behavior
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment and relocate for this position
