Principal Scientist - Oncology

AbCellera is a global company that discovers and develops antibody-based medicines to improve human lives.

We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Scientist with a strong background in oncology and immunology to join our team.

This scientist will contribute to the assessment and development of antibody-based oncology drug candidates, enabling us to move programs faster and with less risk to the clinic.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead internal preclinical in vivo oncology models to support oncology programs
  • Design, support, and interpret pharmacology studies to generate in vivo proof-of-concept and build confidence in selection of molecules for clinical development
  • Collaborate with in vitro biology, protein engineering, and pharmacokinetics scientists, as well as external CROs and collaborators, to execute efficient PK/PD studies to identify lead molecules and advance programs to human trials
  • Mentor team members in laboratory techniques related to tumour xenograft models
  • Report findings to internal program teams and partners to support data-driven decisions
  • Evaluate available preclinical and clinical data sets to build testable biological hypotheses for oncology targets and then preclinically assess those hypotheses
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in oncology, immuno-oncology, and biologics drug development
  • PhD in pharmacology, immunology, or related field, plus 10+ years of experience in a biopharmaceutical industry setting
  • Excellent communication skills to convey scientific and technical concepts
  • Ability to independently identify project needs and implement solutions
