About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at NA 786 Transportation Inc. as a Heavy Truck Repair Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines and heavy trucks to ensure they are running efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair faults and malfunctions in diesel engines and heavy trucks using computerized and other testing equipment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting equipment to prevent breakdowns.
  • Parts Management: Order and manage inventory of parts and supplies to ensure timely repairs.
  • Quality Control: Test repaired equipment to ensure it meets manufacturers' specifications and is safe for operation.
  • Specialized Repair: Perform major internal engine repairs or overhaul, and install and align engines and machinery.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in diesel engine repair and heavy truck maintenance.
  • Skills: Accurate, flexibility, judgement, reliability, and team player.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding, with regular bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads.
  • Work Conditions: 40 hours per week, with a valid driver's license and basic security clearance.
