Parent Support Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and caring individual to join our team as a Parent Support Worker. This role requires a strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with a focus on improving health outcomes for pregnant women and families with infants and young children.
Key Responsibilities- Provide in-home support to families with children between the ages of 0-6 years, utilizing a strength-based model.
- Teach health promotion topics to individuals and groups, and assist the Community Health Nurse to provide and deliver programs and services.
- Advocate, refer, and act as a liaison for families, working closely with Health Care Professionals.
- Plan and deliver workshops, community education events, and develop awareness materials.
- Administer the nutrition coupon program and provide basic infant care, infant stimulation, and healthy child development support.
- Early Childhood Education Certificate (combination of education and experience may be considered).
- Growing Great Kids (GGK) Curriculum training is an asset or willingness to obtain.
- Certified First Aid & CPR and Safe Food Handling Certificate required or willingness to obtain.
- Personal experience as a parent or caregiver of infants &/or young children is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and demonstrate organizational skills.
- The ability to speak/understand Cree is a definite asset.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
