About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive services to adults with mental health/addiction disorders. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping us deliver high-quality care to our patients.

The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Social Work with a specialization in clinical or mental health, and be registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Work. You will have a minimum of two years' experience in an inpatient/outpatient mental health setting, providing independent assessment and treatment of adult mental health disorders.

Key responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, and provision of professional clinical services for patients/clients with complex mental health disorders and/or concurrent disorders. You will also be responsible for providing group treatment approaches and client, family, and community education about mental health disorders and their treatments.

About You
  • Master's degree in Social Work with a specialization in clinical or mental health
  • Registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Work
  • Minimum two years' experience in an inpatient/outpatient mental health setting
  • Strong assessment and treatment planning skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to promoting a culture of safety and excellence
Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent full-time position, working 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $37.31-$49.05. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
