You will work collaboratively with patients, families, and caregivers to ensure that patients receive the care and support they need to maintain their independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal assistance and support services to patients, including assistance with activities of daily living, mobility, and safety needs.
  • Work closely with patients, families, and caregivers to develop and implement patient care plans that meet individual needs and goals.
  • Assist nurses and other healthcare professionals with the provision of routine care, including hygiene, nutrition, and medication management.
  • Observe and report on patient mood, health, and wellbeing, and provide feedback to healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.
  • Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory.
  • Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum may be considered.
