Role Responsibilities

  • Initiate and execute innovative research projects focusing on the optical characteristics of two-dimensional materials and van der Waals heterostructures.
  • Design, develop, and maintain specialized optical equipment, including time and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy systems.
  • Oversee and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in their research endeavors, providing guidance on experimental design and data analysis.
  • Collaborate on interdisciplinary research projects, contributing expertise in equipment utilization and project development.
  • Publish research findings in reputable scientific journals and assist students in enhancing their scientific writing and presentation skills.
  • Present research outcomes at international conferences and workshops.
  • Identify research results with commercial potential and lead the intellectual property and patent application processes.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of research activities and prepare reports to meet institutional performance metrics.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Physics or a closely related field, complemented by a successful postdoctoral research fellowship.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in research roles related to ultrafast laser spectroscopy and optical methods.
  • Proven expertise in studying two-dimensional materials using various optical spectroscopy techniques.
  • Experience with ultra-high vacuum systems and laboratory operations involving laser technologies.
  • A strong publication record in high-impact journals, demonstrating proficiency in scientific writing and peer review.
  • Experience in mentoring students and fostering collaborative research environments.
  • Ability to independently manage research projects and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
