Job Title: District Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated District Psychologist to join our team at School District #23 (Central Okanagan). As a key member of our educational team, you will play a vital role in supporting the social, emotional, and academic well-being of our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and interpret educational, psychological, and behavioral tests to assess student needs and develop effective interventions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community agencies to provide comprehensive support for students with diverse needs.
  • Design and implement behavior management interventions and develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for referred students.
  • Provide leadership and support to School-Based Teams, multi-disciplinary teams, and community care teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with Ministry of Education, Special Education policies and procedures, and apply this knowledge to inform practice.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in school/educational psychology or a related field with a focus on school psychology.
  • Qualification to administer and interpret up to and including Level C educational, psychological, and behavioral tests.
  • Training in psychometric theory and principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and community agencies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to form excellent working relationships with colleagues.
  • Experience in designing and presenting in-service training in special education and assessment.
  • Assessment and counseling experience with elementary, middle, and secondary students.
  • Training or willingness to be trained in positive decision-making, conflict resolution, and collaborative problem-solving strategies.

The successful candidate will be eligible for membership in B.C.A.S.P. or the College of Psychologists. We offer a competitive salary range of $57,972 to $106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications.
